Arizona: When I knew DS he had six kids. I found him to be harsh and dictatorial with a short temper which many in Phoenix adopted and became harsh and oppressive after he left for Prescott Valley.
TD: Yet, how would you define Merie? Have you listened to her classes? When we consider what is a brawling woman, and I’m not suggesting Merie consciously was one, the definition of brawling is “the act of quarreling.”
What is quarreling? One of the definitions is “To dispute violently or with loud and angry words.”
1 Peter 3:4-6 tells us [4] But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
[5] For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
[6] Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
Do Merie’s public classes sound meek? Or does she sound loud and angry? How can a woman who is out of her place and teaching men in public ever be meek? Won’t she always be loud and angry, and if she isn’t publicly, won’t she often be privately? Without the intellect and reason God gave men to guide and lead, what does a woman have left to rule with but her emotions? How reliable are emotions in teaching, leading, or instructing others with? What does the Bible say about anger? Is it ever associated with wisdom? Besides righteous indignation, which would be for upholding Godly causes, and women teaching publicly is NOT a Godly cause.
What is meek?
Webster defines it as: “Mild of temper; soft; gentle; not easily provoked or irritated; yielding; given to forbearance under injuries.”
Sara obeyed Abraham and called him Lord, and when she didn’t obey Abraham and Abraham yielded to Sara, big problems happened because Abraham had a son with Hagar, which led to Islam, which is still problematic today. However, it’s far better than Talmudic Jews.
Notice Merie did not convince or reason with people, predominantly. She used emotions, and powerful ones at that, to guide people to mostly righteous decisions. But emotions are temporary; reason is eternal, and that’s why we don’t study emotions to learn the Bible. We study the Bible, and it reasons us into righteousness. Yes, she used scriptures but ignored those that commanded women to be silent in the churches.
The effects aren’t good. Imagine when Goliath was facing Israel, if David had suddenly remembered that his grandmother was sick. He told everyone, “Hey guys, this Goliath character needs to be dealt with, but my grandmother is sick right now, and I need to go take care of her. When she is better, I’ll come back”. Would God have been pleased with David’s priorities? Likely, when Goliath and the Philistines had destroyed Israel, they’d have shown up at David’s house shortly afterward, and then where would David’s grandmother have been? So, too, today. God tells men to care for the church, the widows, and the fatherless. But didn’t David care for the widows and the fatherless when he destroyed Goliath? Who would defend the widows and the fatherless against Goliath if David and the army didn’t do it? No one, that’s who. Unfortunately, Merie’s doctrine of nonviolence, which has been largely completely absent from Christianity for nearly 2,000 years with a few exceptions like the Quakers, is causing severe problems. Because now, when men ought to be up in public speaking out against the evils of Talmudic Jews, and men ought to be opposing the violent and evil criminals who are running wild, the men are trained to be docile lambs, to care for women and children when the real threat is rampaging shamelessly in full view of everyone!!! Are men neglecting widows, the fatherless, and their families when they publicly oppose evil? No, they sure are not.
This is why women aren’t to be leaders; they are easily emotionally deceived and terrified, leading them to influence men to take stances that God never commanded men to take. So, a woman’s fear disables the very men God designed to protect her. Does a man love God when he allows women to take a leadership role in the church and to speak in public? I’m afraid not. No matter how much a man loves his wife or how much he loves any woman, he has to love God first. God commands women to be silent in the churches, so if you love God, that is what every man who loves God stands for. There is no compromising that. In the end, the men who disobey that command end up harming their own wives and children because now, with men’s intellect compromised by women’s easily manipulated emotions, they are disabled from protecting and providing for the women.
Also, marriage came before the church. So, a Christian husband’s first duty is to provide for his wife and children, even before the church. With women teachers, this creates all kinds of problems, because the wives who don’t speak in public are now under the control of the women who do, which is entirely against God’s design. SINCE WHEN SHOULD A WIFE WHO OBEYS HER HUSBAND BE SUBJECT TO A WOMAN WHO DISOBEYS GOD AND SPEAKS IN THE CHURCH? Yes, there ought to be women who teach other women and children, and these are the women who obey their husbands the best, don’t speak in the churches, and so they can teach other women how to love their husbands and to teach their children.
It was never God’s design that a husband care for women in the church he isn’t even married to while neglecting his wife and children. Do you think a wife and children of a man will be attracted to a church when the husband places the women in the church above his own wife? Not likely. A man’s time should first be devoted to God, and then it should be devoted to his wife and children, and then it should go to the church. Anything other than that order is OUT OF ORDER. Women teachers have often broken up marriages by distorting these priorities.
DS did the best he could in an environment ruled by women teachers. It’s not easy to see through all the chaos of the free love sixties, and I’m grateful to have been given a childhood of peace and purity that gave us opportunities our parents didn’t have. DS has done far more good than otherwise and deserves very high praise for his remarkable work in an environment where the Godly roles of a man were under severe attack.
Arizona: At my first command in the military, I had to work for an E-8 who was harsh and merciless and would mock me at morning quarters, one day I turned in a chit and in front of the division he took it and wiped his behind with it and dropped it on the ground. He told me that I would never have to worry about taking the advancement exam as he would never recommend me for advancement, and he never did. Two years went by and I attended my C school and went to my second command and had to work for a different E-8 who was so harsh and cruel that he made the first E-8 look like a nice guy in Comparision. I didn’t think life could get any worse then it got ten times worse. I didn’t realize how good I had it at my first command. When I made E-5 then life got real difficult, as I was no longer allowed to take leave. As an E-5 I was the military and was expected to be a workaholic like all the other men E-5 and above and they would brag about how many days of leave they lost every year some lost 30 days every year as they seldom took leave and when they did it was only a few days.
TD: I’m glad you shared that; my experiences in the military were equally colorful. However, it appears we view life differently. I view my problems as mostly my fault and recognize that God has given me everything I need to succeed and that any failures are largely due to my errors in judgment. It doesn’t appear to be clear that you believe that you were given an equal chance at success as every other human on earth. However, once you recognize that life is 100% your responsibility, vision improves tremendously. Of course, other humans will mistreat us; that is part of life. The issue isn’t how we were mistreated but how we respond. The Stoic Philosopher Epictetus said: “Who then is invincible? The one who cannot be upset by anything outside their reasoned choice.” Antisthenes said, “It is royal to do good and to be abused.” Since the American standing military is unconstitutional and has been run by Jewish bankers since they took control of our money in 1913 and created the standing army, it will be a harsh environment. With cruel masters, you can expect every leader in the organization to be a tyrant, which was largely the case in my experience. Thankfully, I had many kind men along the way who were very helpful and understanding. I had one fellow recruit who was well-thought-of and got great test scores in the Nuclear field. He was relentless in teasing, and it probably wouldn’t have bothered me if I was humbler. He would call me “Jew” because I was good with money, but we had a decent relationship, and it ended well. Look all over the internet for the men I was in the Navy with, and I can barely find them. And many were very brilliant, as the nuclear field was the top enlisted field in the Navy. Whenever most men in the Navy heard of a Nuke, they would say “F***n Nukes” out of envy because few could qualify for it. One became a Master Chief, which is the top enlisted rank in the Navy. He was best friends with Monroe, the antagonist I just mentioned. Monroe was a wiry guy and would not have lasted long in a fight, so his friend Ed would be his bodyguard to protect him when his mouth was constantly writing checks his body couldn’t cash. I had one very severe drill instructor in Boot Camp, Petty Officer Grubbs, and he was stern. One recruit made the mistake of falling asleep on our Sunday off time, as we got about 4 hours on Sunday off, our only time off for the whole week, and we had to go to church for an hour in those four hours. You could do quite a bit during those four hours, but, though we got 6 hours of sleep for three months, and sometimes not even that, you were not allowed to sleep at all. Well, one recruit tried to hide it and tried to pretend he was cleaning under a bunk. So his body was half in and half under the bunk, and he was soundly sleeping. Well, Grubbs was passing by and happened to notice, and after making sure he was indeed asleep, Grubbs quietly crept up next to the bunk so he could get directly next to the recruit’s ear. Imagine, all of the roughly 100 of us are now watching in the division. Some are laughing at what’s going to happen. Sure enough, Grubbs bellows at the top of his lungs, “M*****A WAKE UP.” He sure did wake up, let me tell you. His head popped up, instantly struck the bottom of the bunk, which had metal cross-rails, and after clanging off of that, banged back down on the floor for a double whammy. The worst part was that the whole division was laughing at him. You’d think we’d be sympathetic because we were all sleep-deprived, too, but no, for some reason, I laughed a ton in bootcamp, and I wasn’t the only one. Part of the reason I had such a great time was that there was no time to get into trouble, and the truism became very obvious. It doesn’t matter how hard your adversity is; if you aren’t doing wrong, you’ll often look back with fond memories. My commander on the Submarine, USS Florida (Gold Crew) was Thomas Buchanan. As luck would have it, he attended a private Catholic school in the very city of Vallejo I grew up in. He and the other officers were very disciplined and relatively virtuous. They treated me very well, and he eventually became Commandant of the Naval Academy at Annapolis, a prestigious college where the Navy trains its officers. I’ll never forget they took me on a relay marathon they ran from Mount Rainier, Washington, to the Pacific Ocean. Unforgettable experience. I ran on two legs; on one, it was the only time in my 44 years that nature called when I was in the middle of nowhere with no restroom in sight and was in the middle of a run. A very distasteful experience, let me tell you. It was the part of nature that isn’t easily remedied either. I had to think quickly to get myself out of that situation without too much humiliation and mortification.
Arizona: My last three years I saw 15 men leave the military from my division only three got honorable discharges which I was one. I saw E-9 over 26 go awol for several months get caught and court martialed busted down to E-1 and given a bad conduct discharge, I saw an E-6 over 17 get busted for drugs and kicked out, I saw E-5 over 10 go awol and get caught several months later court martialed and given a bad conduct discharge.
TD: It was unfortunate. I couldn’t understand why some got into trouble. On my first Boomer trip out to sea, our submarine had 24 nuclear missiles on board; at least, we were told there were 24 tubes. We usually stayed out for three months, then returned for three months on land with almost no work while the other crew took the submarine to sea. Well, on my first trip out, we had a scheduled stop at Pearl Harbor for three days right in the middle of it. I was looking forward to that. I had a very memorable three days. I visited the Polynesian Cultural Center, where the 7 Polynesian cultures are featured. Tonga, Samoa, Fiji, etc. It had a breathtaking finale with a man juggling burning torches and a woman not hard to look at doing the hula dance. I will likely not ever view that again unless it’s in a marriage. Far too risque, though I honestly hadn’t known what it would be beforehand.
I visited North Beach, the only time in my life I went to the beach in the daytime. I told myself I’d look at the sea and sky; that didn’t go too well. I also visited, by myself, the USS Missouri, “Mighty Mo,” which was hit by Japanese Kamikaze planes in World War 2 and was where the final peace treaty with Japan was signed to end World War 2 hostilities with the Emperor. However, on my first day there, two of my fellow machinist mates want me to give them a ride to a place of ill repute, not an actual brothel, but a strip club is very nearly as bad. So, I did, didn’t go myself. On the way back, they are both crying about how wonderful it was, and they are too wasted to be able to drive, so that’s why they had me do it, though I would never do it again. The next day, one of them gets drunk again and becomes suicidal. He’s a Navajo and is 250 lbs, and as we are walking along the ocean, he keeps threatening to climb in and drown himself. This is pretty terrifying to hear when you are a non-swimmer like yours truly. Saving him would be rather tricky if I could swim, impossible since I couldn’t. I managed to talk him out of suicide and back to the submarine. Very stressful. On another occasion in Washington, we are all told not to go to raves in Seattle. Sure enough, some young man goes to the rave, is caught, and is kicked out of the Navy. Being in this environment, I was viewed as a virtual saint, but not with delight. Nothing angers others like a good example. Now, I wasn’t perfect; I just understood my weaknesses and didn’t advertise them to others, as I wanted to get rid of them, not publicly enjoy them.
Arizona: These were not junior enlisted getting kicked out but senior enlisted. In my last year in San Diego I picked up a booklet called Put up thy sword by someone named Merie Weiss and read it and though it seemed rambling I agreed that a Christian could not be in the military which required men to kill.
TD: Read the same booklet. And it was what caused me to get a Conscientous Objector. In retrospect, military service is wrong, but that’s because the standing army is unconstitutional. That said, I’m convinced, and Alexander Campbell, who it’s pretty clear Merie never studied, also concurs that self-defense of your family is entirely scriptural. We are not to war for worldly causes, but Campbell said that opposing the death penalty for wicked men who deserved it was immoral, and I agree. He said you cannot love good and Godly people, and allow evil people to harm and kill them and think of yourself as a loving person. 1,000% agree. No one wants to harm or kill anyone; I know I don’t, but if opposing evil becomes a duty, with force, then here am I, Lord, send me. Merie, like nearly all women, lacked a thorough understanding of history. She was very susceptible to Satan’s deceptive lies, one of which is that we don’t need to use force against evil. The Cross never abolished the moral law. Christ died to end the ceremonial law and forgive the penitent sinners’ sins. Still, you never see the death penalty for murderers or homosexuals being lifted by Christ, and the death penalty for those was in force when Christ walked the earth. Our society is in such terrible shape today because gun control is being spread everywhere; nearly every time, there is a Jew behind it because they want everyone disarmed so their Communist mobs can start slaughtering anyone who opposes them, as they did in Russia and China, murdering 100 million. The Russian Orthodox Church was every bit as strict as Stanton, with a few differences, like infant baptism, yet Jewish Communists quickly demolished it. Crime is at an all-time high in America because of lax punishments for criminals.
Arizona: I ended up in Phoenix working with a Christian man and I asked him where his church was he told me and I showed up that Sunday uninvited and got taught. I found DS no different than the E-8’s I had to work for in the military and suffered depression for many months. I thought with a new teaching preacher thing would get better and they did for a short time, but people are people and sin is sin. I realize today that religion is not a utopia but many times a dystopia and if I am to learn anything I must learn on my own.
TD: So fascinating. I was withdrawn from unscripturally for 14 years, and DS had a part in it, but I forgive him. My response to it hurt me far more than the withdrawal did. Adversity is a test. Humans are like tea bags; hot water shows what you are made of. If you fail a test before, and I did, be watchful; life and God keep bringing that test until you pass it. It’s true; we are only responsible for our thoughts, actions, and words. That’s all we can control. It’s hard enough to control those, never mind trying to control another human, too. Those who rule themselves best often are sought by others for help in ruling their own lives. However, there are many who desire power but don’t realize that “power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely,” as Lord Acton said.

A Munich-based historian Wolfgang Eggert, 54, believes orthodox Jews called Chasidim want to instigate a nuclear holocaust to fulfill Biblical prophesy.
He thinks these religious fanatics must be exposed. The largest Chasidim group, the Chabad Lubavitcher sect want to hasten Armageddon which they believe is a prerequisite for the Messiah’s return. Eggert quotes a Lubavitcher rabbi who says:”the world is waiting for us to fulfill our role in preparing the world to greet Moshiach” (i.e. Messiah.)

The sacrifice of the Israeli Jews shall bring them the international approval to be masters of a united world “republic”, that will be governed from Jerusalem, which, again, is being “prophesied,” by Jahwe.”
CHRISTIAN FUNDAMENTALISTS
While the Chabad Lubavitchers are his focus, Eggert is also concerned about Christian Evangelists like Jack Van Impe, left, and Timothy LaHaye who believe war is the will of God. The Books of Ezekiel, and Daniel in the OT, and Revelation in the New Testament prophesied Armageddon. Their desired scenario includes the destruction of the al-Aqsa mosque, the restoration of the Third Temple on its site; the rising to heaven of the 144,000 Chosen Ones; the battle of Armageddon; mass death among Israeli Jews and the Final Coming of Jesus Christ.
According to Alison Weir, there are approximately 3,600 Chabad institutions in over 1,000 cities in 70 countries and 200,000 adherents. Up to a million people attend Chabad services at least once a year. Numerous campuses have such centers and the Chabad website states that hundreds of thousands of children attend Chabad summer camps.

According to the NY Times, Schneerson “presided over a religious empire that reached from the back streets of Brooklyn to the main streets of Israel and by 1990 was taking in an estimated $100 million a year in contributions.
Schneerson believes Jews are the acme of Creation: “The general difference between Jews and non-Jews: A Jew was not created as a means for some [other] purpose; he himself is the purpose since the substance of all [divine] emanations was created only to serve the Jews.”
Jews are the purpose of Creation. “The important things are the Jews, because they do not exist for any [other] aim; they themselves are [the divine] aim.”
“The entire creation [of a non-Jew] exists only for the sake of the Jews.”
When Schneerson died in 1994, he was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for his contribution to “global morals.” According to Schneerson, Jews are the Priests while the Noahide Laws provide “a religion for the rank and file.”
Eggert quotes another Lubavitcher rabbi: “When examining the chain of frightening events [since 9-11] with a Chassidic eye, we see that the US is being pushed toward fulfilling its historic role of teaching the Sheva Mitzvos [i.e. Noahide laws] to the world.”
According to Eggert, Freemasons have always called themselves “Noachids” and incorporated the statutes into their Constitution as early as 1723.

If you look, you can find pictures of many major politicians in the West posing with this sect. This website features more than a dozen of them. In this YouTube, the Chief Rabbi of the Chabad boasted of his rapport with Vladimir Putin. Eggert says Putin’s mother is Jewish, which makes him Jewish, and that President Medvedev is Jewish on both sides.
Eggert, who studied History and Politics at universities in Berlin and Munich, is the author of eight books on hidden history. While he believes that modern history is dominated by the Cabalistic plot to fulfill Biblical Prophesy, he is careful to distinguish between the Lubavitchers and other Chasidim called “Satmar” who think it is a crime to “force God’s hand” and “hasten the redemption.”
However, the Lubavitchers seem to be in control.

He says the Zionists sabotaged Germany in WWI (strikes, revolts) because it wouldn’t play ball on Israel. He cites a book in Hebrew, “The Historical Moment” by M. Israel’s Culture of Deceit
Washington DC — (Scheerpost) — Israel was founded on lies. The lie that Palestinian land was largely unoccupied. The lie that 750,000 Palestinians fled their homes and villages duringtheir ethnic cleansing by Zionist militias in 1948 because they were told to do so by Arab leaders. The lie that it was Arab armies that started the 1948 war that saw Israel seize 78 percent of historic Palestine. The lie that Israel facedannihilation in 1967, forcing it to invade and occupy the remaining 22 percent of Palestine, as well as land belonging to Egypt and Syria.
Israel is sustained by lies. The lie that Israel wants a just and equitable peace and will support a Palestinian state. The lie that Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East. The lie that Israel is an “outpost of Western civilization in a sea of barbarism.” The lie that Israel respects the rule of law and human rights.
Israel’s atrocities against the Palestinians are always greeted with lies. I heard them. I recorded them. I published them in my stories for The New York Times when I was the paper’s Middle East Bureau Chief.
I covered war for two decades, including seven years in the Middle East. I learned quite a bit about the size and lethality of explosive devices. There is nothing in the arsenal of Hamas or Islamic Jihad that could have replicated the massive explosive power of the missile that killed an estimated 500 civilians in the al-Ahli Arab Christian Hospital in Gaza. Nothing. If Hamas or Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) had these kinds of missiles, huge buildings in Israel would be rubble with hundreds of dead. They don’t.
The whistling sound, audible on the video moments before the explosion, appears to come from the high velocity of a missile. This sound gives it away. No Palestinian rocket makes this noise. And then there is the speed of the missile. Palestinian rockets are slow and lumbering, clearly visible as they arch in the sky and then tumble in free fall toward their targets. They do not strike with precision or travel at close to supersonic speed. They are incapable of killing hundreds of people.
The Israeli military dropped “roof knocking” rockets with no warheads on the hospital in the days leading up to the Oct. 17 strike, the familiarwarning given by Israel to evacuate buildings, according to al-Ahli hospital officials. Hospital officials also said they had received calls from Israel saying “we warned you to evacuate twice.” Israel has demanded that all hospitals in northern Gaza be evacuated.
Following the strike on the hospital, Hananya Naftali, a “digital aide” to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, posted on X, formerly Twitter: “Israeli Air Force struck a Hamas terrorist base inside a hospital in Gaza.” The post was quickly deleted.
Since the Oct. 7 incursion into Israel by Palestinian resistance fighters, which reportedly left some 1,300 Israelis dead, many of them civilians, and saw some 200 kidnapped as hostages and taken to Gaza, Israel has carried out 51 attacks on healthcare facilities in Gaza that have killed 15 healthcare workers and injured 27, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). Out of 35 hospitals in Gaza, four are not functioning due to severe damage and targeting. Only eight of the 22 UNRWA primary healthcare centers are “partially functional,” the WHO says.
The brazenness of Israeli lies stunned those of us who reported from Gaza. It did not matter if we had seen the Israeli attack, including the shooting of unarmed Palestinians. It did not matter how many witnesses we interviewed. It did not matter what photographic and forensic evidence we obtained. Israel lied. Small lies. Big lies. Huge lies. These lies came reflexively and instantly from the Israeli military, Israeli politicians and Israeli media. They were amplified by Israel’s well-oiled propaganda machine and repeated with a cloying sincerity on international news outlets.
Israel engages in the kinds of jaw-dropping lies that characterize despotic regimes. It does not deform the truth, it inverts it. It paints a picture that is diametrically opposed to reality. Those of us who have covered the occupied territories have run into Israel’s Alice-in-Wonderland narratives, which we dutifully insert into our stories — required under the rules of American journalism — although we know they are untrue.
Israel has invented an Orwellian lexicon. Children killed by Israelis become children caught in crossfire. The bombing of residential districts, with dozens of dead and wounded, becomes a surgical strike on a bomb-making factory. The destruction of Palestinian homes becomes the demolition of the homes of terrorists.
The Big Lie — Große Lüge — feeds the two reactions Israel seeks to elicit — racism among its supporters and terror among its victims. The Big Lies fosters the myth of a clash of civilizations, a war between democracy, decency and honor on one side and Islamic terrorism, barbarism and medievalism on the other.
George Orwell in his novel “Nineteen Eighty-Four” called the Big Lie “doublethink”. Doublethink uses “logic against logic” and “repudiate[s] morality while laying claim to it.” The Big Lie abolishes nuances, ambiguities and contradictions that can plague conscience. It is designed to create cognitive dissonance. It permits no gray zones. The world is black and white, good and evil, righteous and unrighteous. The Big Lie allows believers to take comfort — a comfort they are desperately seeking — in their own moral superiority even as they abrogate all morality. It feeds, what Edward Bernays called, the “logic-proof compartment of dogmatic adherence.” All effective propaganda, Bernays writes, targets and builds upon these irrational “psychological habits.”
Israeli supporters thirst for these lies. They do not want to know the truth. The truth would force them to examine their racism, self-delusion and complicity in oppression, murder and genocide.
Most importantly, the Big Lie sends an ominous message to the Palestinians. The Big Lie states that Israel will wage a campaign of mass terror and genocide and never take responsibility for its crimes. The Big Lie obliterates the truth. It obliterates the dignity of human thought and human action. It obliterates facts. It obliterates history. It obliterates comprehension. It obliterates hope. It reduces all communication to the language of violence. When oppressors speak to the oppressed exclusively through indiscriminate violence, the oppressed answer through indiscriminate violence.
The cartoonist Joe Sacco and I watched Israeli soldiers taunt and shoot small boys in the Khan Younis refugee camp in Gaza. We interviewed the boys and their parents afterwards in the hospital. In a few cases we attended their funerals. We had their names. We had the dates and locations of the shootings.
Israel’s response was to say that we were not in Gaza. We had made it up.
The Israeli Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, Defense Minister and Israeli Defense Force (IDF) spokesperson immediately blamed the killing of the Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh in 2022, on Palestinian gunmen. Israel disseminated footage of a Palestinian fighter they said shot and killed the journalist, who was wearing a flak jacket and helmet marked “PRESS.”
Benny Gantz, who was at the time Defense Minister, stated that “no [Israeli] gunfire was directed at the journalist,” and that the Israeli army had “seen footage of indiscriminate shooting by Palestinian terrorists”.
This lie was peddled until video footage examined by B’Tselem, The Israeli Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories, identified the location of the Palestinian gunman depicted in the video. The video, the human rights organization found, was taken in a different location from where Shireen was killed.
When Israel is caught lying, as it was with the murder of Shireen, it promises an investigation. But these investigations are a sham. Impartial investigations into the hundreds of killings by soldiers and Jewish settlers of Palestinians are rarely carried out. Perpetrators are almost never brought to trial or held accountable. The pattern of Israeli obfuscation is predictable. So is the collusion of nearly all of the corporate media along with Republican and Democratic politicians. U.S. politicians decried the murder of Shireen and dutifully repeated the old mantra, calling for a “thorough investigation” by the army that carried out the crime.
A few months later, Israel admitted that there was a “high possibility” that an Israeli soldier killed the journalist by accident, but by then the eruption of street protests and rage over the killing of the journalist was over and her murder largely forgotten.
By the time the conclusive proof comes out about the bombing of the hospital, it too will be a distant memory.
There is dramatic footage captured in September 2000 at the Netzarim junction in the Gaza Strip — where I saw a nineteen-year-old boy shot and killed by an Israeli sniper — by France 2 TV, of a father trying to shield his traumatized 12-year-old son, Muhammad al-Durrah, from Israeli gunfire that ultimately killed him.
The killing of the boy resulted in the typical propaganda campaign by Israel. Israeli officials spent years lying about the killing, first blamingthe Palestinians for the shooting, later suggesting that the scene was faked, and finally insisting the boy was still alive.
When an Israeli soldier, in 2003, murdered the 23-year-old student and American activist Rachel Corrie, by crushing her to death with a bulldozer as she tried to prevent the illegal demolition of a Palestinian doctor’s home, the Israeli army said it was an accident for which Corrie was responsible.
The Israeli military has killed “at least” 20 journalists since 2001, with no accountability, according to a 2023 report by the New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists. “Immediately after a journalist is killed by security forces, Israeli officials often push out a counter narrative to media reporting,” the CPJ concluded. This includes blaming the deaths on “indiscriminate fire” by Palestinians or attempts to discredit those killed as “terrorists.”
Israel blocks the work of independent human rights organizations into atrocities and war crimes it commits in Gaza and the West Bank. It refuses to cooperate with the International Criminal Court into possible war crimes in the Occupied Territories. It does not cooperate with the U.N. Human Rights Council and prohibitsthe U.N. Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, from entering the country. Israel revoked the work permit for Omar Shakir, the Director of Human Rights Watch (Israel and Palestine), in 2018 and expelled him. In May 2018, Israeli Ministry of Strategic Affairs and Public Diplomacy published a report calling on the European Union and European states to halt their direct and indirect financial support and funding to Palestinian and international human rights organizations that “have ties to terror and promote boycotts against Israel.”
After the bombing of the hospital, Israel first released a video that purported to show Palestinian Islamic Jihad rockets which struck the hospital. The Israelis hastily removed the video when journalists noticed that time stamps showed the images were taken 40 minutes after the strike on the hospital.
Israeli propagandists — aware that Palestinian rockets have little explosive power — then claimed that Hamas stored munitions under the hospital. This caused the massive explosion, they said. But if this was true, it would mean there would be a secondary explosion. There was none. And now Israel has released what they say is a recording of two Hamas militants discussing the missile strike on the hospital. The militants ask each other, in a self-incriminating conversation that is too ridiculous to believe, if Hamas or PIJ carried out the strike. Please. How was Israel completely in the dark about an incursion by thousands of armed Palestinian militants from Gaza into Israel on Oct. 7 and able to capture this incriminating conversation by two supposed militants?
“Israel has a whole unit of ‘mistaravim’, Israeli Jewish undercover agents trained to pose as Palestinians and secretly operate among Palestinians,” the reporter Jonathan Cook writes. “Israel produced a highly popular TV series about such people in Gaza called Fauda. You have to be beyond credulous to think that Israel couldn’t, and wouldn’t, rig up a call like this to fool us, just as it regularly fools Palestinians in Gaza.”
Israel has also long targeted medical facilities, ambulances and medics, as Middle East scholar Norman Finkelstein points out. It bombed a Palestinian children’s hospital during the 1982 war in Lebanon, killing 60 people. It also carried out missile strikes on clearly marked Lebanese ambulances during the 2006 war between Israel and Lebanon. It damaged or destroyed 29 ambulances and almost half of Gaza’s health facilities, including 15 hospitals, during the 2008-2009 assault on Gaza known as Operation Cast Lead. It routinely prohibited wounded Palestinians from being picked up by ambulances during this operation, often leaving them to die. During Operation Protective Edge, the 51-day assault on Gaza in 2014, Israel destroyed or damaged 17 hospitals and 56 primary healthcare centers and damaged or destroyed 45 ambulances.

Amnesty International, which investigated the Israeli attacks on three of these hospitals in 2014, dismissed the “evidence” for the attacks offered by Israel as false. “The image tweeted by the Israeli military does not match satellite images of the al-Wafa hospital and appears to depict a different location,” the report read.
Expose Israeli lies and you are attacked by Israel and its supporters as an anti-Semite and apologist for terrorists. You are banished from mainstream media. You are denied forums to speak about the issue and, as has happened to me, disinvited from university events.
It is an old game, one I have played as a reporter many, many times. I bear the scars of the lies spewed out by Israel and its lobby. Meanwhile, Israel continues its butchery, endorsed and even lauded by Western political leaders, including Joe Biden, who accompany the torrent of lies from Israel like a Wagnerian chorus.

In 1940 the Haganah bombed the Patria, a ship carrying Jewish refugees from Romania to Palestine. About 250 of them plus some British servicemen who had boarded the ship in Haifa port were killed. [The British were going to send the Jews to Mauritius. This was intended to look like the Jews blew themselves up rather than be deported.]
Asked his opinion, Ben-Gurion approved of the bombing as a ‘Zionist action’ although ‘no one expected so many victims’.
Deluding himself again, he said it was an ‘act of God’, not of the Haganah. In 1948, another ship, the Altalena — Jabotinsky’s pen name — arrived with a cargo of refugees, arms, and ammunition. Menahim Begin and Ben-Gurion could not agree on how the arms should be shared. Ben-Gurion was prepared to shoot it out and did: the ship was raked with gunfire, ‘Jews shooting Jews’ as Yitzhak Rabin remarked, and eventually set it on fire. The next morning Ben-Gurion responded with this comment: ‘Blessed is the cannon that bombed the ship. The cannon is worthy of standing in the Temple, if it gets built’ (435)…
He fought with Zionist allies and enemies alike. His hatred of his own Jewish stock could be even greater than his contempt for the ‘Arabs’. Weizmann was turned into a ‘loathsome carrion, like a trampled corpse’ (351), Jabotinsky was ‘Vladimir Hitler’, and the Revisionists a ‘Jewish Nazi Party’. (252). The insults were returned in full measure.
‘At any cost’ meant lying and dissembling endlessly: whatever Ben-Gurion said for propaganda purposes, he always knew what he wanted, which was the removal of the Palestinians from the land that belonged to them, according to all logical legal, historical, and moral criteria but to which Ben-Gurion believed only Jews had a moral and historic right.
On this basis he set the Zionist state on the course it has followed to the present day, with the devastating consequences it has had for the Palestinians, the surrounding Arab world and the Jewish communities who lived in that world for thousands of years until deliberately uprooted by Zionism’s ‘ingathering of the exiles’.
For Ben-Gurion, the ‘Arabs’ were no more than one-dimensional objects on the landscape that had to be removed. They had no right to be in Palestine let alone the right to stay there. Had he seen them as equal human beings he could not have been a Zionist.
Indeed, he hardly saw them as human beings at all. They were lesser beings, to be disposed of when the time came. The old, the young, women, children, babes in arms, they all had to go, as they did in 1948.
Driven out on the orders of this man or what was tacitly understood of what he wanted and moving further away with each step from the massacres that had been the fate of many others, they streamed in long columns toward Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan. Many died on the road even as the homes they had been forced to abandon were being plundered and destroyed.
Ben-Gurion did not establish ‘the only democracy in the Middle East’ because it was only a democracy for Jews and therefore — like his socialism — not a democracy at all. What he sowed were the seeds of what has gradually taken shape since 1948, a Jewish supremacist state from which the ‘Arabs’ must be purged or reduced to ethnic remnants waiting for the next busload of American or Japanese tourists.
Even in the twentieth century, the politician as an unindicted war criminal is a familiar figure in history. Ben-Gurion’s ethnic cleansing of Palestine earns him his place in this pantheon of the wicked. His crimes were not as great as some but greater than many. In Zionist history he is a heroic figure: across the long span of Jewish history, his place is less certain. Herzl, Weizmann, and then Ben-Gurion pitched Jewish life out of the sanctity of the metaphysical into the physical, quickly showing that, when given a state, Jews could behave as badly as anyone if not worse than many. Ben-Gurion took the lead in driving them further in this direction.
From the beginning there were Jews, not only but notably Neturei Karta, who regarded Zionism as apostasy and a stain on the Jewish faith. For the Palestinians and other Arab victims of Zionism, the Star of David, embossed on the wings of warplanes and the sides of tanks pulverizing Lebanon or Gaza or scribbled on the walls of Palestinian homes on the West Bank are the symbols of a savage, remorseless enemy, just as the Zionists wanted Israel to be seen. The gross historical irony, needless to say, is that the sight of the swastika had the same effect on its victims.
Notoriously humorless, veering in his youth between suicidal thoughts and grandiose ideas, searching for meaning, Ben-Gurion found it in Zionism. It took him out of a small Polish town and eventually projected him onto the world stage, as it had done to Herzl, a dreamer and minor literary figure, and Weizmann, the practical chemist. Ben-Gurion claimed to be a socialist but socialism only for the Jews and not the ‘Arabs’ was not socialism to anyone but a doctrinaire Zionist.
Zionism promised redemption, but at the cost of the blood of other people, there can be no redemption, only a struggle between occupier and occupied which after more than seven decades shows no sign of ending.
