Social Media
For decades before the internet was rolled out, around 1991, extensive research was conducted on how to use it to influence minds. And it has been stunningly successful, as hundreds of millions of minds in America have been changed, most unwittingly, by information fed to them by the internet.
There has been a very successful campaign by those who must not be named to relegate those who tell the truth about them to internet Siberia, while tens of millions on social media are exposed to lies daily. So, if tens of millions are exposed to disinformation and lies daily, is it any wonder where the roots of corruption and ignorance in America come from? Should any American be on social media? Are there good reasons for a person to be on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and a host of other social media sites? Are we there to learn? Is the information objective? Or is it tinkered with? It’s definitely regulated by invisible overseers who have a considerable say over what you see in your social media feed. Of course, if you clicked on sports, you will see a lot of sports videos in your feed. But the sports videos will be selected by the people who create the algorithms and determine the topics. Let’s say you like football; well, the best football video of your team may never show up in your feed. You are shown what the algorithms want you to see.
Algorithms, that is a new word. Twenty years ago, 99% of Americans probably didn’t know what this word meant, and I was one of them. The definition in the modern Webster’s, which is severely inferior to the 1828 Webster’s, is: a procedure for solving a mathematical problem (as of finding the greatest common divisor) in a finite number of steps that frequently involves repetition of an operation. So, we are to believe that search results are pulled up impartially and without bias, which is entirely false. For those who make the algorithms, who we rarely see or understand, have their own motives, and those are to serve their interests, not ours.
Why would Americans go on Twitter and Facebook when many now realize that these platforms ban millions of their fellow Americans? Do you really think you are going to gain worthwhile information when they censor the truth? People may have different opinions about truth, but objective truth rises above views.
Not only is social media full of disinformation, deceit, propaganda, and corruption, along with the media, but why would a parent allow a child to have a cell phone? Under 18, do we really believe their brains, which aren’t fully formed until 25, can handle having a cell phone? I certainly don’t think so, and neither does any wise parent.
I used to somewhat believe in Gab, but I soon realized that bots nearly all support the leading accounts, and it’s an artificial reality. Even though they let the truth be spoken, it’s subject to shadowbans, and algorithms drive the known agent accounts to the top. Who likes interacting with bots and accounts supported by chatbots? I sure don’t. Social media has probably marked the largest shift ever from humans interacting with each other to humans interacting with bots, and most don’t know they are doing this. This is why I love my website, for it may appear lonely, but I know it’s not fake; there are no chatbots, these are my opinions, and there are no paid opinions that dominate here. This isn’t true on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, or any other major social media platform.
There is so much truth being hidden from Americans, and yet, few take the time to consider how we are being deceived, and even fewer take steps to do anything about it.
Conclusion: For those who still have a television, I recommend getting rid of it and ceasing to watch any TV or movies. There is a far better and more satisfying world out there. And, all Americans are recommended to leave Facebook and Twitter. Millions already have. No social media is free of invisible control, and when we go there, we are subjecting our minds to control by people with, at best, dubious motives and agendas. Avoiding all social media is wise. Also, minimizing video game use is wise, as there is little to be gained from playing them often.
